Getting Started

Here are the steps to getting started...

  1. You should have a fast internet connection like cable, DSL, or Satellite.
  2. Sign up for a free account on the Virtual Magic School
  3. Go to the My Lessons page and select "Free Trial" from the drop down menu.
  4. Try viewing the free videos. Our video training should work on any modern internet browser.
  5. On the My Lessons page download and read the introductory document.
  6. Shop the catalog of material and purchase whatever you are interested in! The lessons and materials will automatically appear on your My Lessons page after they are purchased.

Online Video Lessons

Where is my free introductory video?

Your free introductory video is available on the My Lessons page.

  • Sign up for an account if you have not done so already.
  • Sign in to the Virtual Magic and Mystery School web site.
  • Once you are signed in, the <script type="text/javascript" src="http://virtual.magicalwisdom.com/js/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/langs/en.js">menu at the top of the web page will change.
  • Click on My Lessons on the top menu.
  • There is a drop down list in the upper right area of the screen, click on it and choose "Free Trial".
  • Your free introductory video should now be listed on the right so that you can select and view it.

I selected a lesson in the drop down box, now what?

First be patient... it may take a few moments for the video and downloadable materials to appear in the scrolling list on the right side of the My Lessons page after you select a lesson from the drop down list. Once the lessons and materials are on the list, click on one of them to view or download.

How do I purchase a lesson?

Just choose the lesson you are interested in learning and click on the LEARN IT button or link.
You will be walked through our easy payment process via Paypal.
Once you have paid for a lesson, it will magically appear on your My Lessons page ready for you to watch and learn.

What if I don't have a Paypal account?

You can pay for lessons on the site using your paypal account if you have one. You can also use any credit card through our Paypal account even if you don't have a Paypal account. So just click on the LEARN IT button for any lesson and feel confident that you will be walked through an easy payment process.

Can I view my lessons again?

Yes! You can view them as many times as you like so that you can take notes and practice. Sign in to the site and return to the My Lessons page so select and view videos from your library of free and purchased trainings.

Where do I get the Adobe Flash viewer?

The Adobe Flash player is free and you can download it and install it here. You will need version 9 or later.

I have the Adobe Flash viewer installed and I still can't view the lesson, now what do I do?

Read our technical help forum and post a message there to let us know about your specific situation and we will help get you up and running again or find another way to get the materials to you.

I have a question about a specific lesson or trick...

Here are things you can try and probably the best order to try them in.

  1. Read or post about that particular lesson under the Lessons section in the forum
  2. Sign up for a Private training session
  3. Contact the teacher directly via their web site

Downloads

Some of the lessons available on this site take the form of or come with downloadable written materials or instructions. These downloads will appear on your My Lessons page along with the videos. The downloadable documents are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

How do I download materials from the site?

  • On the My Lessons page choose a lesson.
  • Scroll down on the left until you can see the Download section (if any).
  • Click on the document you want to download. You will be prompted about where to save the document.
  • Select a location on your local hard drive to save the document that you will remember.
  • Once the document has been downloaded, you can open and read it.

I can't open the downloaded document

In order to open and read the downloaded document you need the free Adobe Acrobat reader which can be downloaded here.

My Account

How do I get an account?

It is easy to sign up for an account on the Virtual Magic and Mystery School. Your account is free and then you can choose the lessons you want to purchase. There are several ways to get your new account started.

  • Click on the Free Trial button on the home page of the site
  • Click on the Sign Up link in the upper right corner of any page
  • Or just click here!

Once you are on the sign up page...

  • Choose and enter a user name. It will have to be a user name unique to our site but can really be anything you want. It should be brief and memorable to you.
  • Enter your email address.
  • Enter the password you would like to use for this site and then enter it again. The best passwords are at least 8 characters long and contain a mix of small and capital letters, numbers, and special symbols.
  • Make sure you know your user name and password for the next time you log in.

I have an account but I can't log in, what do I do now?

If you forgot your password you can reset your password. Your new temporary password will be emailed to you so that you can log back into the site.

How do I change my password?

If your password was just re-issued, you will have to use the new password in the email you were sent to log in the next time.

Once you have logged in, you can change your password by clicking on "My Account" in the upper right corner of the site.

What personal information do you store?

We store your user name and password and your email address. That is all! You will have to log into your Paypal account or enter your credit card information each time you purchase a lesson.

Private Sessions

What is Skype and where do I get it?

Skype is a FREE internet video conferencing and audio call service. You can download and install Skype on your computer and then create your Skype profile.

What do I need to make Skype work?

Skype works well on any fast internet service. It has its own software installation and does not rely upon your browser. Skype transmits both audio and video signal so you will need a microphone and a camera. These may be external or may be built in to your computer. The faster your internet connection and the better your camera, the higher quality your Skype video conference calls and your Private Session will be.

How do I schedule a Private Session with a teacher?

Follow the instructions for scheduling a Private Session on this page.

What does a private session cost?

Private sessions typically last 1 hour and are $200. The lesson needs to be paid for before it is scheduled to take place.

What should I do to prepare for a Private Session?

The more prepared you are for your Private Session, the more you will get out of it.

  • Install and TEST your Skype software, microphone and camera
  • Make a list of your questions and the things you want to go over with your teacher
  • Put your scheduled session on your calendar or in your reminder system so you do not miss it

What do I do at the scheduled time of my session?

  1. Get your props, notes, and questions ready.
  2. Open your Skype software.
  3. Call the teacher at the Skype contact profile they sent you when they scheduled the private session.
